Employees are not satisfied with the lack of safety efforts…

Workplace safety is something that every employee wants to know is effective for them to feel like they are safe at work. In an article written by Steve Hallo, he writes that at least 65% of employees feel like their employers aren’t making enough effort to improve training on safety. The article mentions a study, the “State of Employee Safety Report”, which explains that employees don’t feel like their organizations prepares them well enough for emergency situations. There are many ways that employers and organizations can prepare their employees for emergencies, as well as improve safety around the workplace. Safety improvement plans are something that Hallo mentions, which can show employees that their employers are thinking about efforts to inform employees on ways to keep safe. The study in the article talks about how employees have a want for safety and preparedness. Natural disasters are something that you cannot stop, but you can prepare for them. Open communication and safety plans provided to the employees can give people the sense of security, and the sense that their employers care about their well-being. Peter Steinfeld, who works at AlertMedia says in the article, “Organizations with a strong safety culture also tend to experience less staff turnover, lower risk for brand and reputational damage, and higher employee satisfaction”. Not only do organizations want a safe environment, but they want to be successful. By making your employees feel safe, you can make sure your company is providing what it needs to or employees.  Make sure you are taking the right steps to ensure safety around the workplace.
